Help the refugee crisis by planting trees at the Lorax Patch. For every £1.00 you donate, we will plant one tree AND donate your £1.00 to Wells Refugee Aid.

Wells Refugee Aid is part of the charity RAFT (Refugee Aid from Taunton) who distribute aid to refugees all around the world. They have the knowledge and experience to best know what is needed on the ground, and the money that is donated will be well spent. If you are unable to donate money but can donate household items, or indeed time, then please do get in contact with Wells Refugee Aid of RAFT (both can be found on Facebook)

Should we beat our target for donations then any surplus will be split with half going to Wells Refugee Aid and half to the purchase of more trees.

In the next month the aim is to plant 3,400 Willow trees at our Permaculture smallholding, the Lorax Patch. Willow is a pioneer species that should do well in the wet conditions. Planting these trees will suck excess moisture out of the soil thereby improving the growing conditions for crops in the future. Our first planting session will be on 28th and 29th January.
