Weʼre raising £3,000 to support my Botswana World Challenge trip in 2020. We aim to support a local community with building projects and a nearby rhino reserve.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
I have recently embarked on my World Challenge journey with a student volunteer team. We will be travelling to Botswana in July 2020, in the hope of benefitting the lives of a local community there, and to also volunteer at a rhino conservation project.
On our trip we will be part of a larger scheme which has the ultimate goal of building a classroom for this small, underprivileged community whilst camping in the heart of the village and experiencing life from its point of view for a few weeks. As well as building, we will be involved in helping the villagers with their everyday chores - bringing in food/crops, collecting water, cooking etc. With the rhino conservation staff, we will be securing fences and assisting with other maintenance tasks to help ensure further generations of these beautiful animals.
I am one of 15 students from Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, in Darlington that make up the team taking part in this amazing opportunity and facing its challenges. I would very much appreciate any donations you feel able to make to this worthy cause. Thank you.
