Liam is only 5 years old and has the whole world at his feet. At the start of May 2018, the family had the devastating news that their beautiful son has an incurable and inoperable brain tumour giving him up to a year to live. DIPG is very rare and just one child a year would develop this terrible disease at the Queens Medical Centre Nottingham. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure.

DIPG grows in the area of the brain that controls sleep, respiration, swallowing, bladder control, hearing, taste, eye movement, facial expressions, facial sensation, and posture. Growing in this area makes surgery to remove the cancerous tumour impossible. However tests and trials are being carried out in a handful of places around the world to work towards a cure, or extend the length of the prognosis past a year. This cancer usually only affects children under the age of 10.

As part of this and to help raise as much money as I can toward this, I was givin a Bungee Jump as a Christmas present which I will be doing in June and I would like to dedicate this to him. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m up for a challenge and knows how much I want to do a Bungee Jump. As part of this, I also would love to be able to help this special little boy and his family and allow them to be a part of my jump.

I have set up this Just Giving page to help Liam and his family raise as much needed funds as possible for specialised trials and treatment across the globe to remain within hope that something can be done. After plenty of research, it is looking like most of these treatments cost up to £350,000 a time. Fundraising is the only chance and we have to try to make this happen as a community.

Currently the only treatment is radiotherapy within the NHS in the United Kingdom, this only shrinks the size of the tumour before it comes back again, only with radiotherapy will Liam live for up to a year.

There are so many stories of families travelling to Mexico, USA, Germany and others for treatment, and with your generous donations, Liam and his family could do just that!

I don’t have children myself and can’t imagine what they are going through but nobody wants this such heartbreaking news. At the moment, there is not a lot we can do but raise money and keep doing activities and fundraising events to help the family financially, maybe allow Liam to have a dream holiday, see his favourite football team, allow him to visit his favourite places and make him live the best life he can with the help of his family.
