Weʼre raising £1,000 to Fundraise for Internet Radio Station to keep it on air
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Hello we are Ron Clark & Ian Johnson who are the owners of chatandspinradio.com
The Station has been operating for 5 years Broadcasting Local, National & International. In that time it has been run as a non-profit making enterprise providing a platform to many who wish to become a presenter and host their own show. One of our original team went on to create and host Radio Larne and is doing well indeed. We promote not only local talent but also, just recently, bands from the USA. We provide the opportunity for not only musical groups and events to be promoted, but also those who do fundraising and community work. In previous years we have travelled to attend events as varied as Steam Rallies, Vintage and Antique Fairs, Mum2Mum Sales, Sci-fi Fairs, all free of charge to help promote those events and get more people to the next one. All this we do only with the assistance of our dedicated volunteers, our Admin team and our presenters.
Over the past 2 years or so we had to take on Advertising on the Station in a way to make our ends meet, we chose to keep the cost as low as we could to give the businesses the best deal as possible. We were pleased at the response and currently have 2 sponsors and about 20 to 30 or so Adverts running per month but even with Advertising the Station needs help.
We all know money doesn't grow on trees, how we wish it did, but we wish we could continue to fund the Station out of our own pockets or that the Advertising could generate the regular amount the Station requires. Sometimes things change, payments are late, and income that we use to keep it running isn't readily available so this is why we have taken the decision to set this go fund me appeal up. This would assist us to continue to pay for all the necessary licences need to legally run the Station, allow us to replace equipment that has been used over the last 5 years, invest in new software and equipment, the upkeep of the chat and spin Website and, possibly to provide a transport solution allowing us to, once again, provide outside broadcast at local & nearby events.
I do hope that, with assistance from your good selves, we can continue providing a platform to new, up and coming presenters & to showcase local, national and Stateside musical talent as well as giving airtime to people who do so much good work in the community.
