Hoping to raise some money to help the sittuation of the group. Yes I know I'm crazy! But I have worked at this pre school for 8 years and it would be heartbreaking to see close. The rewarding feeling i get from knowing the difference to these children's life's our team make is pretty amazing. I will be doing the sky dive on the 8th of July 2017!

The Dorchester Oppprtunity Group is a charity run preschool for children with additional needs such as speech and language delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as more complex medical needs. Many children are yet to be diagnosed but show delays in their development from a young age so are referred to the group by medical professionals, health visitors, speech therapists or children's services.
Highly skilled staff support children in accessing a wide range of play based activities in a safe and stimulating environment where they learn vital skills to enable them in interact positively and communicate effectively with adults and their peers. By developing such skills reduces frustration and associated challenging behaviour. This also impacts massively on family life at home.
The group costs in excess of £100,000 a year to run so relies heavily on dedicated fundraisers and community grants to top up statutory funding received from the local authority to enable the service to continue.
Children and their families benefit greatly from being at the group which in turn leads to a smoother, more successful transition into school.
