Story
My name is Cherith Armstrong and I have two young girls, aged 5 and 2.
7 years ago, I was diagnosed with MS, a neurological condition, which affects your nerves. It's caused when a person's immune system isn’t working properly.
Having tried several treatments already, I am now trying to raise funds for HSCT. This would involve stem cells (from my own bone marrow or blood), being collected and stored, and the rest of my immune cells being depleted by chemotherapy. The stored stem cells would then be reintroduced into my body. HSCT has proven to be successful in restoring normal immune self-tolerance and producing lasting symptomatic improvement for the majority of MS patients. You can read more about it here: http://www.hsctstopsms.com/what-is-hsct/
As I am now in a wheelchair, it makes it difficult for me to live a normal life. It would mean so much to me to be able to experience my children growing up, enjoying being outside with them, which is what they love the most.
