Olly joined our family 2 weeks ago and was a bubbly bundle of love until Thursday night when he awoke at 2:30am and started having seizures. We rushed him to the out of hours vet where he continued to seize every 20 mins and eventually went into rolling seizures. The vet worked tirelessly and brought this under control and told us that he may be suffering from some type of toxicity. He has been being treated for this but today (19th June) we received the devestating news that it is a liver shunt and he needs surgery. Olly’s insurance isn‘t valid until 21st June and he is therefore currently outwith the timescale. Our vet bill is increasing (currently £2000) and that is before surgery. Any help would be greatly appreciated, i do not want to put our fur baby to sleep for the sake of money.

Update: The Vet has now said they have ruled out a liver shunt and we are back to possible toxicity. Olly is now blind (possibly temp) and has the odd “episode” of confusion. We visited Olly today and were told by the vet that he could come home on a strict medical regime. Thank you to all who donated, it will make a difference to the final vet bill.
