At the beginning of June this year, five slightly older gentlemen, with some Young Turks to keep them motivated, and a group of family and friends to keep them supplied with tea and chocolate, plan to cycle the length of the Chiltern Cycleway over four days. The Chiltern Cycleway is a 170 mile circular route passing through the Chiltern Hills, and it's certainly hilly.

Their intent is to raise funds for the St Marks Hospital Institute for Bowel disease. St Marks, based in Harrow, is the countries leading research hospital for Bowel cancer, Crohn's disease, and Colitis. Debilitating and often life threatening conditions for the sufferers. St Marks Institute is a medical research foundation committed to delivering a future free from bowel disease.

Paul, one of the cycling team, has suffered from Crohn's disease for 40 years and has seen in many occasions the fantastic advances in patient care being developed at St Marks. The research is funded entirely by donation, and the team are setting out to raise just a small contribution to thier ongoing efforts.
