On the 23rd August I will have landed in Phnom Penh in Cambodia ready for three weeks volunteering and teaching conversational English to children in Siem Reap. During this time I will be submerging myself in the Cambodian culture and will also spend two days in an elephant sanctuary.

Additionally, my little sister Isobel will be attending her third transplant games this year as part of King’s Children’s Transplant Team. This is a team of children who have had liver, small bowel, or multi organ transplant at King’s College Hospital and who take part in The British Transplant Games. The games take place every year in different cities across the UK. They take place over a weekend thats full of sports and social events for children and parents to meet other families who have had similar experiences. After being seriously ill and nearly losing her battle on a few occasions, Isobel had her liver transplant at just 10 months old. The games allow us to not only celebrate her and how amazing she is, but also to celebrate the donors and the donor’s family who gave the greatest gift we could ever ask for.

As an added incentive to donate, I will be using the gym bikes to cycle 200miles for four weeks from 5th March - this equates to roughly 10 miles a day (excluding weekends when I work!!).

The money raised will then be split between helping to fund my volunteering in Cambodia, and to the King’s Children’s Transplant Team, to help enable us and other families to go to the games.
