We're raising funds for the Nottingham Lions!

We recently attended a Lions game and were warmly welcomed by everyone. On speaking to people close to the club we were informed that the team are coached and supported on and off the ice by volunteers. both the volunteers and players have day jobs and families yet still dedicate tonnes of their time to their team and the game they are passionate about.

Just before Christmas the team had their Stanley FatMax rolling workshop stolen. This held the teams tools, spare blades, leg & stick tape, heat gun and medical supplies such as muscle rubs, plasters and tape etc. In all, approximately £500-£600 worth of equipment was stolen. the team is funded by the players paying monthly subs and the theft is a blow to their finances. Ultimately the team will end up having to pay to replace the stolen equipment.

Recently the team made a loss after paying hundreds of pounds for a referee. On top of this other costs are incurred such as ice time, equipment and kit. Some funds are raised at games from the sale of pick 'n' mix, Lion bars and merchandise but we want to do more.

Our aim is to set up fundraisers, be sponsored to do the colour run in Sheffield in June and anything else we can think of! we are hoping to be working closely with the team next season to help out any way we can.
