After deciding to take up running for a variety of reasons, I decided why not put this new hobby to good use and raise some money for some charities that mean something to me! I thought about just doing a marathon, but then thought that was too easy! So for some strange reason I have decided to do 3 events, each of which is ridiculous!

Event one is the The Wall - 69 miles Ultra Marathon following the route of Hadrians Wall - June 17th

Event two is Man vs Lake - 26.2 miles marathon around, in, through and above lake Windermere - July 15th

Event three is Man vs Mountain - 20 miles up and down mount Snowden - September 7th

As there are three races I have decided to do the events to raise money for three lesser known charities which do great work and mean something to me or people that I know.

AndysManClub - this is a charity which is just over 12 months old. They are a talking group, a place for men to come together in a safe environment to talk about issues/problems they be have faced or currently been facing. The benefit is there are other men who have been in similar situations and can help you with advice on how they have dealt with the situation.

Papyrus - they draw from the experience of many who have been touched personally by young suicide across the UK and speak on their behalf in our campaigns and in our endeavours to save young lives. Together we believe that with appropriate support and education, many young suicides can be prevented.

PSC Support - PSC is a rare autoimmune disease of the bile ducts, with, sadly, no known cure. Getting a diagnosis can be devastating, not only for the sufferer, but also for those around them: parents, relatives, partners and friends.

The total raised will be cumulative and split between the three charities equally after the last event. Please give generously and if you would like to help or get more information please get in touch.
