On 25th November 2015 Michael Lewis sadly passed away at the age of 20 from what we believe to be DIB Syndrome associated with Type 1 Diabetes.

The Foundation bearing his name is determined to prevent other families suffering the pain and loss that his mom and dad, Cheryl and Tim, his brother Nathan, have and will forevermore endure.

Modern technology exists, in the form of patches to alert the wearer and family members via a mobile phone app if the sufferers blood sugar levels drop to dangerous levels.

My fellow Trustees and I, are determined to try and source and embrace this technology and offer it to undergraduate students from the local area going off to University for the first time. To help give them and their families peace of mind during the transition to university life, but at approx. £2,500 per year we need funds.

With this in mind I, along with two friends and fellow nutters Rob Key and Steve White, will be attempting to climb Kilimanjaro from the 10th to 17th February 2018.

Kilimanjaro is the Highest Freestanding Mountain in the World and the Highest Mountain on the African Continent at 5895m.

Our target is £1 per metre and the trip is being totally self funded, so all donations will go directly to our cause.
