With your help, I am aiming to achieve the total cost of my World Challenge Expedition to the Indian Himalayas, through a variety of sponsored fundraising events, such as the “Tough Mudder” Mud Run: which involves running for 10-12miles with over 20 obstacles throughout the duration of the course.

During the expedition I will be working with my team, from Bromsgrove School, to undertake the Kaza-Kafnu trek, which reaches passes of up to 4,680m and is over 140km long. This high altitude trek goes through the stark moonscapes of the Spiti and Pin Valleys into the meadows, pastures and forests of Kinnaur. Throughout this trek I will be able to experience local culture first hand, experience the strong Buddhist presence within the valley and visit a Tibetan monastery.

The project phase of my trip (up to two weeks) will be an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in Indian culture and provide support to local Rajastani communities. This support may involve a variety of different tasks such as educational or renovation work e.g. improving rundown bathrooms or kitchens, painting a nursery with colourful and educational murals, teaching, organising sports, or even installing much needed facilities for a local community or school. During this community project I endeavour to help to improve the lives of local residents and help to broaden the access to education for local children. Everyone has a right to education and community projects like this help to provide access to those in need.
