A significant number of children in India are born with a cleft lip and palate deformity. Too poor to access medical help, many are left unable to eat or speak properly. The physical, psychological and social implications of being born with a cleft lip and palate cannot be underestimated.

On 27th January 2017, I will be joining other volunteers to form an anaesthetic and surgical team to perform life-changing corrective surgery for cleft lip and palate repair. The charity organisation for the outreach is the Northern Cleft Foundation, which has been in operation since 2001 offering free surgery to children and adults affected with cleft lip and palate deformity.

I am hoping to raise at least £500 to cover costs for flights, accommodation and visa.

My challenge !!! ... is a sponsored run to work for one week commencing Monday 9th January. I will cover a total of eight miles a day plus a ten hour day shift everyday for a week whatever the January weather brings! Come rain, come snow, come tornado I will be running!!!

I reckon this is a tough enough challenge and it is definitely a worth enough cause so please sponsor me :)
