    Story

So... its been one hell of a year so far...

The kind of year where most of us have wondered what else? What's next? How much more crazy can come in our direction?

The kind of year that has required perseverance, resilience and a healthy helping of trying to find the positives, however small, every day.

Its been a year where we have felt more community minded than ever whilst being more distant than we could have imagined. Its been a year of tears for many.. but also a year where we have truly come to appreciate the small things.. the less material things.

For me... its probably been just about the hardest year of my life. Challenges I could never have predicted have arisen for me, and for many of my friends and family. And we have tackled them. Together.. but separately.. one step at a time. Always trying to just keep going.

And so to this challenge.. LEJOG!! 874 miles from Lands End to John O Groats.

I have a year. And breaking down the numbers that's only 2.6 miles a day..

But its every day. .. Commitment needed.

And that is what 2020 has required. Not a superhuman effort all in one go.. but a constant capacity to Keep Going. Even when to quit seems the only answer.

So I will run LEJOG... one foot in front of the other. And I will run this for my family and 2 causes very close to our hearts.

I am hugely privileged to have such a family.

They are my rock, my inspiration, my best friends, my wise counsellors - they keep me strong.

The big C is well and truly a part of my family's story .. as I know it is for so many. But outcomes are improving and that's because of the amazing research and NHS acting quickly.

St Luke's School has been a revelation for my daughter - and Specialist SEN education is in woefully short supply and underfunded. Disability shoudl not be a barrier to a future - and St Luke's is helping my precious child to realise her worth.

My sponsorship target is £874 - a pound for every mile.

"To get through the hardest journey we need only take one step at a time. But we must keep stepping"
