I am running the Brighton Marathon 10k to raise much needed funds for a project at a local school . They have launched the 'Big Playground Adventure' to improve the playground at Fairlight Nursery and Primary School. My grandsons attend this school and I volunteer at the school, so I know how dedicated and hard working the staff are and how excited the children have been in helping to design their playground, which is desperately in need of modernising. The staff want all children to learn, take risks, be curious and creative through play. Outdoor play is an important learning resource, but school budgets are being cut so playgrounds aren't top priority. Fairlight school is old and cramped with a playground too small for 400+ children aged 3 to 11 years.
