    Story

My name is Claire, I'm a writer and mental health advocate.
But all you really need to know is that I genuinely give a shit about mental illness and well being, and I want to take action.

If you also care about mental health, then keep reading...

    - I started the blog 'We're All Mad Here,' after a nervous breakdown.

    - During my recovery I noticed that the majority of resources were either too clinical, or read like misery memoirs.

    - I vowed that once my health improved, I would document my experiences without the use of unexplained medical jargon. "Serotonin and SSRIs?" Are you f**king kidding me?!

    - I want to help sufferers and care givers. Education, support and experience is the key.

Not enough is being done to tackle mental health issues. Can you imagine living with a broken leg 24/7? Just because you can't see the problem, doesn't mean it isn't there.

I would like to transform my humble blog into an online publication. Harnessing the best experts, writers and vloggers. Community support is invaluable, as is advice from those who have actually experienced the problem. The NHS is trying, but failing and I can't see any significant improvements happening quickly. 'We're All Mad Here' could be a publication to bridge the gap and help those in need realise that they're not alone and more importantly, are not a freak.

I seek funding to build the website and to pay it's contributors. Writers, photographers, web designers, they all deserve to be paid for their time and dedication.

Please give your support to this worthy cause. £1 - £1,000 - every penny will go towards people who care and will spend the money wisely.

    Thank you for your time.

    Love,
    Claire
