Luke Stewart is a little boy of 7 years old, who travelled to Mexico with his family for treatment after he was diagnosed with the tumour, known as a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

Luke's family decided to travel abroad to access a specialist course of therapy, after treatment offered in the UK could not give any guarantees of success. So far Luke has been responding well to his treatment but his family have to ensure he can keep receiving follow up treatment once he returns to Scotland by travelling back and forth to Mexico.

We (Claire and Christine) do not know Luke or his family personally but have been following his story and really want to help to ensure he can keep receiving his lifesaving treatment in Mexico, We are both mums to young children and have been inspired by the bravery of Luke and his family and just want to do our bit to show our support.

We have decided to use our love of running to raise some money for Luke. We will be running the Scottish half marathon on Sunday 24th September.

So dig deep folks and help us reach (or beat) our target. All money raised will go straight to Luke's family to pay for his ongoing treatment.
