Weʼve raised £110 to help give a Christmas Day and Dinner to young people leaving care around Richmond that don't have any family....
- Funded on Thursday, 2nd May 2019
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
FIFTY young people from Richmond who have just left care homes are going to receive a once in a lifetime Christmas, thanks to a project inspired by Lemn Sissay, the official poet from the 2012 Olympic Games. The Christmas Dinner will come to Richmond Borough for the third time this December, after Sissay galvanised members of the local community to provide a traditional, family-feel Christmas Day for care leavers aged between 18 and 25. Richmond will be only the second London Borough to make this happen.
As I decided to do a Dry January I thought that it would be nice to raise money for a local charity. I read about this in my local magazine in Richmond and decided it would be nice to do something that is close to my heart. Any donation size small or large would all help to give these young people a nice day next Christmas 2019.
