    Story

We continue to help our UK Armed Forces Personnel who have suffered physical injury and the truly terrible PTSD.

Following our three successful trips to Las Vegas in 2012, 14 & 16 where we have inspired around 60 Heroes and the 2017 India Adventure with a group of 12, riding across the Rajasthan dessert, our 2019 trip is a new challenge that promises to be truly unique with supporting charities at home and away.

Our 2019 Mission is to assist young people who have been raised in residential care or who have recently been orphaned or who are vulnerable and to give them life skills with a view to getting further education and/or employment or at least the tools to try. The charity is called the “Baphumelele Fountain of Hope”.

Baphumelele started small in Khayelitsha, a township just outside Cape Town and is now an oasis in a desert of poverty that looks after young children in many ways with accommodation, schooling & medical assistance. As the children grow into adult hood with no prospects and have their own children, for many of them the poverty cycle starts all over again with their children going into care because of this or even worse with HIV/Aids.

The Foundation of Hope facility for the older children is away from Khayelitsha, on a small farm with accommodation for around 30 young people in a safe rural area just outside Cape Town. It’s a place for learning & growing up and we can all help not only these young people, but our Heroes and ourselves.

Today we spent the day at the Baphumelele Fountain of Hope and met with the young people living there. We worked together to do some much needed maintenance work painting the outside of the buildings. These children have been orphaned, trafficked and sexually abused to name but a few things they have had to cope with in their young lives. To say that these children are completely broken when they arrive here is an understatement. Help us to bring some joy to their lives this Christmas! Thank you
