Clare and Andy are running the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 1st October, and we would be really grateful if you could sponsor us to help raise £1500 for a cause that is really close to our hearts.

One of our great friends, Matt Burns, celebrated his 40th birthday earlier this year. It was an emotional evening as a year earlier he had been diagnosed with a rare form of bile duct cancer called cholangiocarcinoma. Matt underwent surgery and chemotherapy and by the time of his 40th party we all thought we were celebrating him beating the cancer.

Unfortunately, we now know that the cancer has spread to his liver and is now incurable.

Matt and Jo have three young children, the oldest of whom, Noah is 10. Martha and Jude are just 6 and 2. Any treatment that might buy Matt and his family some extra time to spend together is a chance he desperately wants to take.

Dependant on the advice of the specialists the next course of treatment could be self funded, costing in the region of £30,000. So, together with other friends and family we have come together to form "Team Burns" to raise money towards the cost of any potential treatment which becomes available.
