In December this year, it will be 10 whole years since I lost my dad ( my favourite person ever and who I love and miss so much) to non-hodgkins lymphoma. I wanted to do something amazing and raise lots of money towards a charitiy that funds research into prevention and also supports those living with blood cancer, hopefully into their recovery.

To raise the money towards these great charities, in November I am trekking the Ancient Inca Trail over 5 days covering 52km. This classic Inca Trail encompasses 3 high mountain passes – the highest being 4,200m. The trek will be tough and will certainly test us, but upon witnessing the sight of Machu Picchu with breathtaking views across the Andes our efforts are more than worthwhile especially knowing we have done it for my dad and to help others affected by blood cancer.

About the Charities

The Lymphoma Association is a UK charity dedicated to providing specialist medical information and support to people affected by lymphatic cancer including families, friends and carers. The UK's only charity dedicated to lymphoma, they have been providing in-depth, expert information for over 30 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer. Their work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment and aftercare of lymphoma.

Bloodwise is a UK based charity dedicated to funding research into all blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Their vision is to beat blood cancer. They invest money into blood cancer research to ensure that all patients have their disease diagnosed early and accurately, receive personal, targeted treatments which are effective and have minimal side effects in order to beat or manage their cancer, as well as to offering information and support to blood cancer patients.
