Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Clearview Systems JustGiving page.
On Wednesday 31st May 2017, Ellie Durn and Katie Hawkins, employees of Clearview Systems, completed a skydive in order to raise funds to purchase a community defibrillator for the Elgar Business Centre in Hallow, Worcester and the surrounding local villages.
We haven’t quite reached our target amount, but because we are so close we will continue fundraising until we do. So any donations will be greatly appreciated.
Ellie and Katie really want to make a difference and potentially save lives, as this is a cause very close to both their hearts (no pun intended). Both Ellie and Katie have close family affected by heart conditions.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere – it is extremely unpredictable. Approximately 100,000 people die of cardiac arrest each year in the UK, that’s more than 1,750 a week!
Unfortunately without treatment with a defibrillator, only approximately 5% of people survive. It is essential for someone in cardiac arrest to be treated immediately with a defibrillator, as for every minute that passes by without one chances of survival reduce by 10%. Due to our offices rural location in Hallow, Worcestershire it would be extremely unlikely that an ambulance crew would be able to reach us or the surrounding villages within minutes.
With the money raised we will be able to place the community defibrillator publically in a secure facility which can be accessed when someone dials 999.
Clearview aims to raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause and any additional donations in excess of our required amount will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.

7 years agoThe defibrillator has now been installed and can be found outside Clearview's office. We raised enough money to fund a defibrillator training and awareness session provided by the WMAS NHS Foundation Trust. Employees from Clearview Systems Ltd, Opus Claims Solutions Ltd, Microtrol Ltd, Child Care Bureau Ltd, Parsons Trading Ltd, Timecode Systems and Worcestershire Federation of Women’s Institutes all attended the training session, when children from Hallow CE Primary School also came along to see the results of their fundraising. Thank you!

7 years agoThank-you to everyone who has donated so far. The skydive was a success and such a great experience. We have currently raised approximately 75% of the amount it will cost to purchase the defibrillator and the outdoor secure box to store the defibrillator in, so we are still accepting donations until we reach our target amount. The sooner we hit our target amount the sooner we can purchase the defibrillator and make it publicly available. Thank-you for your generosity!
