    Story

    Colin Sydney John Trampleasure 1928 - 2018

Colin Sydney John Trampleasure gently slipped away aged 89 at his home at Maycroft Manor in Brighton, on 11th April 2018.

The places in his life were Peckham, Whitstable and Romford.

His career began as a messenger for the Daily Herald Newspaper in Fleet Street in 1942. He became a record-holding Pitman shorthand writer in 1959 and used that skill to become a City business verbatim reporter. Ultimately, with the help and friendship of many fabulous people (the stickers, stuffers and messengers - you know who you are) he built a successful press release distribution business.

The foundation for this success, was his kindness, generosity and great sense of humour. He will be missed by family and friends alike.

If you'd like to mark Colin's life in one way, in lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation through this site to our chosen charities, the 'Hopefield Animal Sanctuary' and 'Martlets Hospice'. Colin's late daughter Vanessa supported Hopefield Animal Sanctuary. Martlets Hospice were there with the incredible Maycroft Manor team, to make sure Colin was comfortable and cared for until the very end.

    Nice one Cole, big love.

Like the rest of the Whitstable clan, Colin was a keen card player. Here he is cleaning up again, Christmas 2014.

I remember Colin in the 70's growing up in Romford, as a friend of his son John. Doris and Colin always made me welcome at their house and even once invited me to Xmas dinner. Happy memories.
