Story
My name is Aleasha and I am final year student at University of York. I set up a campaign called "Collecting Cosmetics" because I believe self care is an essential part of mental health recovery. I collected self care products for female inpatients at a psychiatric and mental health ward based in a Tanzanian referral hospital.
I worked in this ward on a five-week placement last summer and was truly inspired by the work carried out at the ward. Inpatients during their free time were able to groom and make themselves feel good but are limited to what they can use. I set up my campaign Collecting Cosmetics because I believe self care is an essential part of mental health recovery.
I am very grateful for the amount of generous donations received. I have managed to collect up to 20kg worth of cosmetics.I would like to raise money to help with postage of the donations to Tanzania. The cost of this is £200 using TNT express services.
I will truly appreciate the efforts of all and so will the women too.

I think this is a really fantastic idea and I’m very impressed that you are actually doing it. Maybe you could approach some societies, like FemSoc, to see if they’d consider doing something similar?
