ABOUT US

Colman Creative Academy opened on the 6th September 2020 after a delayed opening due to COVID-19. We are a permanent weekend school situated in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, training students age 4 – 18 year olds. We provide an inclusive, safe and friendly environment where students are able study in all aspects of Musical Theatre including singing, acting and dance.

We pride ourselves in structured and tailored classes to enable all students to develop both personally and technically. The academy focus on encouraging all students to express themselves through creativity, building confidence, understanding the industry but most of all having fun whilst making new friends.

Since opening the academy we have noticed a real increase in positivity within our students and their families. Colman Creative Academy is a family. With supportive parents and lots of celebrations. We know a lot of students can not wait until Sunday's for their weekly class with us and we love nothing more than seeing their smiling faces when they leave the studio at the end of their class.

SUPPORTING US

We were very excited at the thought of running our first ever production, for a lot of our students it would be the first time ever they would get to stand on a stage, with lights and costumes and for their friends and family to watch them. With the development of COVID this isn't possible and we have adapted our plans so our students can still enjoy a brand new experience!

This July our students will be taking part in their first ever short musical, this will be recorded and streamed to friends and family at a later date with the option to keep the footage as a memory to look back on! We have been able to plan this so that it is guaranteed to go ahead in or out of a lockdown situation.

In the students first term we gave all our groups the task of a performance piece, where they learnt a musical theatre piece and recorded this in the studio. (Please see the video below to see what our Juniors got up to during this experience).

We are hoping that our summer production can be a large scale version of this involving all students across all ages!

For the production all students will need a script and as the production involves some amazing characters we will be required to hire costumes for the recording session. With this in mind we are looking for donations to ensure all students can afford to take part in the show.

Any donations and fundraising made between now and the end of June will be evenly divided by the students to reduce their fee.
