Story
Several organisations with an interest in the health, safety and wellbeing of folks in the Blair Atholl area, including the Community Council, Community Resilience Group and BA & S Initiative have come together to establish a COMMUNITY FUND. The Fund will be used to support resilience within the community by assisting local individuals and organisations in meeting the costs associated with the prevention or recovery from unforeseen events causing distress or disruption. Examples of projects which may be considered for funding include (but will not be limited to):
• Upgrade of temporary safe refuge (Blair hall) e.g. improved heating, seating, etc.
• Unforeseen costs associated with assisting vulnerable persons during temporary evacuations, power outages, etc.
• Community flood protection. Contribution towards repair of River Tilt gabions.
• Defibrillator consumables (batteries, pads, etc.)
• Purchase of an additional defibrillator (Trinafour)
• Community Resilience Handbook updates
Note: the above examples are for illustration purposes only - they are not a definitive list.

This is a great initiative. Well done Blair Atholl and Struan community for leading the way once again. Charity begins at home - other communities could learn from this.
