    Story

Firstly, thank you for taking the time out to look at my fundraising page.

About 5 years ago, my mother was diagnosed with an incredibly rare form of muscular dystrophy known as Pompe. It is an inherited neuromuscular disorder that results in deterioration of a person’s health over time.

The disease is incurable, but it can be treated in the form of enzyme replacement therapy which my mum undergoes every fortnight to keep her alive.

The strength she has shown throughout my life is immeasurable and still isn’t waning even after what she has been through the past few years.

I’ve decided to run Tough Mudder in order to give me a glimpse outside of the comfortable life she has helped me to create.

More importantly, I will be raising money for the Lysosomal Storage Disease Unit at the Royal Free hospital who look after patients with similar diseases to my mum’s and also carry out research into advancing treatment in this little known branch of medicine.

I’ll be running Tough Mudder with two close friends. Kai, who is also raising money for the LSDU. Luke, who will be raising money for Chron’s and Colitis UK.

Any and every donation is welcomed with great appreciation.

Thanks for checking out the page,
    Conor

Only took 5 and a half hours to get it done. Blood, sweat and hypothermia scares. 💪. Couldn't have done it without these two, next year we'll aim for 5 hours flat... Big thanks to the team that came down to support us and to all who have donated.

This time last year, if someone had told me I'd be getting out of bed at 5:30 to go for a run... I would have told them to seek professional help. But here we are.
