SAVE OUR POST OFFICE & STORE

CCAG are informing our residents and neighbours that the Cookley Post Office and General Store is up for sale and at risk.

We have had numerous engagement with our community and it was decided by all that we would set up a Community enterprise business. our communities, individuals and businesses from surrounding areas then buy shares in the business. This will enable us to raise funds to buy the Post Office Building as a community. If the feasibility study is favourable. Please note shares can be purchased at later stage, but when purchasing please remember that this is to save an asset important to our community not for a high return.

In Order to achieve this, we first need to establish the business and CCAG steering group is working with The Plunkett Foundation Consultant on this.

We need funds to carry out the feasibility of this to see if we move forward and to help pay for the legal frame work, carry out an extensive business plan and pay for an accountant to do a full report on the accounts of the Post Office & Store. An independant valuer to value the business and property on our behalf. And a negotiator if the reports are favourable and we move forward
