It’s really key to support your local community and help anyway you can, to make people’s lives better. This year we have chosen the Andover VIPs charity as they really are local to us here in Andover . Please help us raise as much as possible by sponsoring us to complete a duathlon (cycle & run) on Friday 15th September!!

Andover VIPs (VIP means visually impaired people) is an active local charity run by visually impaired members assisted by a dedicated team of sighted volunteers, and is available to visually impaired people in Andover and the surrounding villages.

They provide a wealth of activities to the members including to name but a few:

Weekly Drop-in centre at Borden Gates VIPs office

Twice monthly meeting at St Ann’s Hall – first & third Wednesday of the month

Indoor and outdoor bowls (every fortnight)

Home and hospital visits for club members who are house bound and lonely or in hospital

Monthly armchair exercise classes – St Ann’s Hall third Wednesday of the month

Line Dancing

Day excursions from April – September to places of interest

Regular trips throughout the year to the theatre including pantomime, musical and operas

Countryside walks and lunches

Christmas and summer parties with entertainment

Monthly Audio Magazine which is circulated on request to the visually impaired people of Andover and the surrounding villages.

The services they provide are available to 400 visually impaired people of Andover and the surrounding villages. Membership is currently almost 70 people and is growing annually.
