19 Co-op stores in the highlands have joined forces in a group effort to raise £15000 for a local boy from Inverness with multiple health issues. Step Up For Sam is Sams family and friends who have pledged to do wonderful things to raise money for his treatments that are not funded by the NHS but have an amazing effect on his wellbeing. A manager from the Co-op attended one of these events and felt compelled to get us involved. So here we are pledging to cycle the North coast 500 over 7 days from September 9th and to fundraise in all of our stores between now and then. After reading about Sams various health issues we feel compelled to support the family in anyway we can. When Sam was born the doctors noticed some issues so he went straight for an MRI where they found that his brain had not developed at the normal rate. This meant that Sam would have numerous medical issues and the family still have no medical explanation for the cause of his condition. All that is left to do is make sure he sees the best specialists and recieves the best possible care to help him walk and learn, this money will really help Sam for the rest of his life.
