Prudential Ride 100

The Reason: When I decided to sign up to the Prudential Ride 100 in January of this year I initially thought it would be an achievement of strength, endurance and perseverance. In the end it will be for all of those things but from a different angle.

Some of you may or may not know that my best friend and her family were affected by the Grenfell Tower fire in London just over a month ago. On the 14th June she and her family lost everything they have known for the past 41 years of their life. Vanessa's parents are two of the hardest working people I know. They came to the UK 41 years ago from Galicia in Spain and built their life in that tower. They have had three kids grow up there celebrating numerous birthdays and holidays and will continue to have those memories; however they have lost everything they have worked so hard for. I think we can all agree no one in the tower deserved this to happen to them.

The Ask: Since this happened I have talked to many of you who have expressed interest in helping the families of those effected by the fire but at the same time making sure it goes to the right place. This is why I am asking for your help. If we pull together we can try and make the transition from living in a hotel to a permanent home that much more comfortable. I am asking for your help of raising at least £1000 for Vanessa and her family as they will be needing help with everything from furniture to the little things such as picture frames to make their new house a home. Anything you are able to spare, big or small will make a difference.

I said this ride would be a test of endurance, strength and perseverance. Those three words bring new meaning when something big happens in life. Together we can pass on the endurance and strength it
