Cowbridge Tennis Club is an 'open for all' tennis club where playing tennis is made easy and enjoyable.

The health benefits of tennis have been medically established. A recent survey concluded tennis can prolong life by as long as 9.7 years. It is also recognised that exercise, such as tennis, promotes good mental health.

Cowbridge Tennis is committed to its community connections. Due to the increased popularity of our club, an additional court is essential to serve the needs of the local community.

To raise funds, 63 year old Nigel Osborne will take on a solo cycle challenge from Caernarfon to Cowbridge within 2 days (ie 100 miles per day) on 17 & 18 September 2021. This will involve around 3,500 feet of climbing. This ride is classed as a grade 3.5 on the British Cycling Scale i.e. difficult!!

Cowbridge Tennis intend making a donation to local charity Prostate Cymru of 20% of all funds raised by Nigel's mammoth effort. In the UK more than 100 cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed every day with 11,900 deaths per annum. It is the second biggest cancer killer of men in the UK. So, the more funds we raise, the larger will be the donation to this renowned cancer charity which does invaluable work within the community.

You might consider that the effort required to complete this extraordinary challenge is worth sponsoring, particularly as the funds will be put to such good use within our community. We wish to raise as much money as possible for the construction of a court and for Prostate Cymru and so urge you to give generously.
