    Story

    5 A'WEEK

5 A'Week is a new innovate way of challenging 2 of the biggest barriers to exercise, time & effort. The current guidelines for the UK is at least 150 minutes of moderate- vigorous aerobic activity such as cycling or brisk walking every week, and strength exercises on two or more days a week that work all the major muscles (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms

This is usually completed by taking part in 5 x 30 minute bouts of HIT (High Intensity Training). HIT training was originally invented to train elite athletes so unless your the next Usain Bolt, this type of exercise is not generalisable for the average population. Another barrier is time. 5 days of 30 minute exercise is proving to be a barrier.

Therefore, Crag Connect have conducted original research conducted by Sport & Exercise Scientists in local Universities to facilitate a HIT workout that suits the general population. This consists of a reduced HIT session on 5 days per week, lasting only 10 minutes including warm up and cool down and is tailored to suit the participants perceived exertion.
