What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

DT38 Foundation Hello! Back again! Sandra and I are walking the '3 Yorkshire Peaks' on Saturday 7th September in aid of DT38 Foundation, Testicular Cancer Awareness.

In case you are thinking this is easy, it is a 25 miles (40km) walk up (and down!) 3 of Yorkshire's highest (small!) mountains, averaging 700m each.

3 Yorkshire Peaks

It is a one day hike, taking about 12 hours including breaks, and is a bit tough on the old ankles and knees, not to mention boots, but we can do it!

We are aiming to raise £500 (Euros 550) however if we can beat that so much the better!

Sandra is flying in from Germany just to take part, so if there are any Euro donors and they have trouble making a payment, please drop me a message on this page or through Sandra, and I will give you a Euro account you can donate to, and I will upload the UK GBP Sterling equivalent to this page so we can all keep track!

Testicular Cancer is a very dangerous illness, which unlike almost all other cancers is usually treatable if caught early.

Breast cancer and cervical cancer have very robust screening processes in place, however boys will be boys and don't seem to take as much care of themselves, and subsequently many testicular cancers go unnoticed until it is too late.

DT38 Foundation was set up in the name of Dylan Tombides, international Australian and West Ham United football player, who tragically died aged 20 of testicular cancer a few short years ago.

I am a Trustee of DT38 Foundation and proud to support this cause, so please sponsor us!

Many thanks,

Craig and Sandra

Friends, Romans, countryfolk, lend me your ears! We raised a huge total of £565! – £440 on the sponsor page, and £125 in direct donations to the DT38 Foundation website. THANK YOU!!! I loved doing the challenge, and want to do it again... the competitor in me thinks next time we can beat 11 hrs 45 mins for 2.25 miles of vertical climbing (equivalent) and 27 miles of hill walking. Maybe next year! Thank you again, the £440 is going to DT38 Foundation now and I'll send you all an email bank transfer confirmation when I get it. All the best, Craig
