Weʼre raising £400 to help fundraise for Melody Luckman who needs specialist equipment.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
https://www.facebook.com/The-Melody-Maker-511958502223125/ Melody is nearly 6, and has a rare genetic condition called CASK Gene mutation, which means part of her X chromosome is missing. Mutations of the CASK gene are associated with X-linked mental retardation with microcephaly and disproportionate brain stem and cerebellar hypoplasia. The CASK mutation means that the cerebellum and pons sections of the brain are far smaller than they should be. She will never speak, and needs constant care.
A team of us at work 'The Cramps and Spencer' are doing a virtual walk of 899 miles over 4 weeks. Please sponsor us to raise funds for a travel cot (to stay away from home) and an i-pad which will allow Melody to use an eye-gaze for some form of communication. As you can see she's always smiling and deserves anything to help her.
The team consists of Sue Biggs (Melody's grandma), Fran Messina, Trish Bartlett, Andrew Lucas and Sue Skinner.
