What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

For our 2018 end of year challenge, Creative Aquatic have decided to combine three of the things we value most, swimming, the local community and water safety. We are challenging all of our swimmers to swim as far as they can in an effort to achieve a bronze, silver or gold certificate based on their distance and amazing efforts. This is to raise as much money as possible in sponsorship to support our local charities and finally to spread awareness of water safety which they have learnt with Creative Aquatic out into the local and international community.

Please support our challenge and individual swimmers but DO NOT WRITE their name in the comments section when you make your donation! - Data Protection.

The short-listed charities:

The charities that have been selected for the Creative Aquatic Charity of the Year 2018 are as follows:

Friends of Frome Hospital

This charity provides vital equipment and services that are not covered by the NHS to people in Frome, supporting patients, their loved ones and medical staff. They also support local projects and organisations that provide services such as health education in schools, carer’s courses for people with Alzheimer’s, and free counselling for people with cancer. One of their ongoing projects is securing and placing many green emergency defibrillator points across Frome and the surrounding villages, maybe you have seen one near you?

Fair Frome

Fair Frome aims to make as big a difference as possible in local people’s lives by offering practical support in improving their finances, education, and health – as well as raising awareness about poverty. A big project that they have pioneered is the Food Bank for people in crisis which has supported hundreds of homes, as well as Community Dining events and the Furniture Bank. One of their ongoing projects is working towards providing short term shelter for homeless and people in need in Frome throughout the winter so that they can have somewhere to come out of the cold to. Fair Frome have also been integral in supporting recent victims of the fire in Garsdale, Frome.

Frome Fire Station

Donating to the Fire Fighters Charity means giving support directly to fire and rescue personnel who have risked their lives to protect us, for example in the recent fire in Garsdale, Frome. The Fire Fighters Charity helps firefighters who have experienced an injury as a result of their service with their rehabilitation, recuperation, and ongoing health needs. It also seeks to support their children and families, and now has a pilot programme for retired personnel.

Our swimmers will vote for their charity of the year on their challenge consent form, and it will be revealed which one of these charities will receive 100% of the money we raise at the 2018 Creative Aquatic Christmas Party.

Due to data protection: PLEASE DO NOT WRITE THE NAME OF THE CHILD OR FAMILY YOU WISH TO SUPPORT WHEN PROMPTED TO WRITE A MESSAGE OF SUPPORT, PLEASE USE THE SPONSORSHIP FORM INSTEAD .
