When my wife Joyce was diagnosed with cancer, coping with everyday life suddenly became quite difficult for the both of us. On top of this, not having a car, the added stress of trying to arrange transport to and from the hospital for chemotherapy, as well as juggling my time off work, and of course the constant worry of last minute hitches with the transport arrangements, were at times, more stressful than coping with the diagnosis. We were very quickly put in touch with Daft as a Brush, a charity which provides transport to and from the hospital for cancer treatment, free of charge. Daft as a Brush transported Joyce from the second week of treatment until she was unable to continue. I cannot put into words the relief I felt knowing that Joyce, or myself for that matter, no longer had to worry about how she would get to and from the hospital. So I am raising funds to ensure that DAAB can go on to offer the same service to other cancer sufferers in the North East. We might not be able to make the cancer go away, but we can take away the worry of how to get to and from hospital for treatment. So please help by donating what you can to a great charity.
