    Story

Weʼre raising as much money as we can to provide much needed funds for two mental health charities in the UK & USA by hosting an event via the famed JOGLE route with both virtual and in person components.

Together, 80Noir Ultra and Run The Edge are showing the world what positivity in motion looks like and breaking down mental health barriers.

We have both in-person and virtual components, so regardless of where you are located, you can be a part of the journey. 80Noir Ultra will be taking their newly refurbished Hot Chocolate Trailer, Daisy, on her FIRST adventure, touring 853 Miles along the famed JOGLE ROUTE (John O Groats to Lands’ End) on the 28th Sept-2nd October 2022 to spread the joy of dark chocolate and have uplifting and real conversations with local communities and groups about mental health and re-writing outdated perceptions.

Capturing the various ways exercise can attribute to improving mental health, we will share ways in which we can help one another and raise awareness of mental health, exercise and dark chocolate. If you are in the UK or want to meet us along the JOGLE route, we’d love to connect!

If that’s not a possibility or you’re up for challenge, you can participate in the virtual JOGLE Challenge hosted by Run The Edge! Over the course of five months (August 1 - December 31, 2022), participants will attempt to exercise virtually across the JOGLE route, keeping track of mileage within their Run The Edge Tracker app.

Supported by some amazing small businesses, we will be navigating across the UK, virtually and in person, and raising funds to assist three amazing mental health charities.

What Can You Do To Help?

    1) Get physical, Sign up to The Run The Edge Virtual JOGLE Platform and take part in our epic journey 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻🚴🏻‍♀️🚴🏻

    2) Donate to this amazing cause (we will be going into more detail about what every penny will help with further down the page) and share with everyone you know - links below. ❤️

    3) Come out to visit us in the UK. We will be detailing Daisy's stops below, so find your nearest one and come along. We would love to see you, serve you hot chocolate and become lasting friends. 🍫

    THE VIRTUAL CHALLENGE

Run The Edge has created an amazing and interactive “Virtual JOGLE Challenge” for you, so you can participate from anywhere in the world. Registration opens on July 12th and the challenge starts on August 1st. Participants will have until December 31, 2022, to complete the mileage, allotting five months to complete the distance by running, walking, cycling, or even swimming. The challenge can be done solo or in teams of up to 10 people - it’s entirely up to you!

As you travel along the route, we will have you stop along some famous, and admittedly not so famous, landmarks, accompanied by unique hand-drawn badges available in your Tracker.

With the help from companies Pretty Athletic, Roll Recovery, Scimitar Sports, Proper Nutty, ZAG DRINKS, Wild Highlands Coffee and many more, you will be able to feel rejuvenated, satiated and motivated to keep going. You will also receive discount codes from our amazing small business partners so you can really absorb all the benefits along the way, and be able to see what is unfolding in the in person event in our daily blog, showcasing the ups, downs, team, supporters and all the latest information! As an added bonus, for the first 10 days registration is open, Run The Edge will be randomly selecting 15 people each day to win some of 80Noir Ultra’s premium chocolate for free! We will also be selecting 100 additional participants randomly throughout the challenge to send samples of the chocolate for an extra boost of power to complete the journey!

50% of ALL virtual registrations before October 31, 2022, will go to support the charities involved.

Working with Run The Edge has enabled us to take this project GLOBAL and since mental health is a worldwide issue, it’s even more special that we can reach everyone. Thanks to our band of other small businesses partnering with us, we will be spreading the positivity throughout 853 miles and with your help, raise money for three mental health charities: Mind Over Mountain in the UK Active Minds in the USA, all the while supporting other small businesses and creating a positive association between dark chocolate, mental health and fitness.

    THE IN PERSON EVENT

Last year we did a kickstart campaign to get a hot chocolate trailer refurbished, which we have lovingly named "Daisy". For her very first journey, she is going to blaze a trail of greatness and positivity from John O Groats to Lands’ End in under 4 days, stopping off at different locations along the way. She would love to meet and share amazing products with you, demonstrate various ways of having hot chocolate and have fabulous conversations.

Come as strangers and leave as friends.

Throughout the journey, we will be creating a travel vlog that will highlight everything that we are doing, the groups and communities we are meeting and mastering the art of a good hot chocolate and making people smile.

We will be delving into the local areas’ key groups that are supporting mental health in order to open the conversation, show you what is available nearby and highlight the importance of mental health, exercise and, of course, great quality dark chocolate.

50% of ALL drinks bought will go to support the charities involved.

    The Charities

The three charities we have chosen to raise money for are inspiring in each of their own fields and are helping to increase accessibility to mental health resources for everyone.

    Mind Over Mountains

Mind Over Mountains is a mental health charity offering immediate and accessible support through therapeutic outdoor events.

Our events run throughout the UK, with bursaries available to those with the most challenging lives. Ranging from one day hill-walks to weekend retreats, our programmes bring together professionally guided hill-walking, mindfulness and time in the company of experienced coaches and counsellors.

In this growing mental health crisis, timely professional support is at a premium, often with financial barriers to entry.

We believe this time in nature, coupled with professional support is a powerful way to build resilience, talk without pressure and re-find stillness.

Restoring mental health, naturally - here's our ingredients for sustainable change:

Holistic approach: Physical, emotional and spiritual challenges to inspire change

Developing whole-body resilience: Creating positive physical and mental behaviours to confront life’s challenges

Reconnecting with nature: Meaningful time immersed in beautiful and remote natural places

Professional support: High-quality counselling, 1-2-1 coaching, mindfulness and inspiring talks

Safe space: Building and contributing to a shared community, express yourself without pressure

Lasting change: Sustainable aftercare through self-help skills, professional and community support.”

    Active Minds

Creating hope out of tragedy. Active Minds was founded by Alison Malmon when she was a junior at the University of Pennsylvania following the suicide of her older brother, and only sibling, Brian.

After my brother’s death, and knowing how preventable it was, I resolved — no matter what — to do something to change the way we approach mental health in this country. For nearly twenty years, Active Minds has worked to change the culture around mental health in classrooms, workplaces, and communities nationwide. As we continue on our journey, we are committed to upholding the following four values, which serve not only as a guide to the work we do and the solutions we pursue but also as well as a framework for fostering anti-racist and inclusive communities that prioritize mental health. Learn more about each of our values below.

Please join us on our journey to raise money for these amazing charities that are breaking down barriers to mental health resources for all. As we progress, we will provide updates on social and in our vlog, as well as tips on how to get involved with this initiative.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read! Please help us spread the word to make this a healthier, happier and non-judgemental world for us all.
