Hi, I'm Daisy and I'm planning on spending 3 weeks volunteering in Sri Lanka this coming summer to help rehabilitate and conserve the environments, help local community projects, and bring new ideas to them to help fund the community.

I will start with a week exploring the island, taking part in team building activities, visiting cultural sites, getting to know the local communities and picking up some of the basics of the Sinhala language. The second week entails marine and wildlife conservation where I will be taking part in rainforest replantation, helping injured animals at the animal hospital, helping in the turtle hatchery, cleaning up the beaches and rivers, and helping out in the tree nursery school nurturing and caring for the growing trees. Finally, in my third week I will be spending my time with the local communities finding out about community projects, doing market research into products that are sold at markets, developing products and designs to help support these community projects, and bringing new ideas to them.

This will be an amazing experience for me to be able to explore the island and see the incredible views, sights and cultures; to be able to see how different communities and cultures live and work, and to be able to help rebuild such a beautiful environment. I felt like this was an opportunity I couldn't turn down.

To be able to fund the trip it is around £2500 which I have started saving for by working hard however, any help would be much appreciated, however big or small.

This is going to be an incredible opportunity and will be an experience of a lifetime, so thank you to anybody who builds on the funding in anyway.
