Our son Harry was diagnosed with autism at 4 years old. Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people and the world around them. This is not an illness or disease and cannot be cured.

Harry is now 6 years old, non verbal and can become anxious in everyday situations. We decided to look into ways of help him with his developmental difficulties and heard about the non-profit organisation Autism Life Dogs.

Autism Life Dogs are trained in a unique therapy programme of games and activities to aid the development of physical, cognitive, life and social skills, to support speech and language and social interaction, and to regulate sensory issues and reduce anxieties and challenging behaviour.

Autism Life Dogs provide these special dogs at a cost of £20,000 per dog, with families needing to contribute £7,500.

In August as a family we met Autism Life Dogs and were accepted onto their programme for Harry to receive his own forever friend.

To help raise funds towards this, Dan (Harrys Dad) will be taking part in Commando Series 6K military assault course being held at Hever Castle on Saturday 11th November. Any Donations given will be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards the cost for Harry's dog.
