Story
We live in Great Yarmouth and are currently fundraising for our son Daniel to get him a new basketball wheelchair.
He suffers from McCune Albright syndrome-Fibrous Dysplasia, a rare bone disease which means his mobility is extremely limited, trying to walk causes significant pain and he is at constant risk of further harm or damage to his legs and pelvis. Sadly, for the majority of his days he is confined to a wheelchair.
2 years ago he joined a wheelchair basketball team called Norwich Loweiders and has found a new lease of life, travelling around the country playing in a national league against other children who also suffer but overcome the same daily struggles as him.
He loves it but more importantly, he is good at it! He is ambitious and dreams of being in the Paralympics one day. Dan's passion for basketball shines through and as a result he was awarded young sports person of the year 2016!
To help Dan achieve his goal he really needs a better chair to play in... A truly amazing man, the father of Dan’s friend- Jon Ingram, has completed a sponsored motorbike ride to raise some cash towards a new RGK Elite basketball chair. The chair is just short of £5k but it is adjustable and will grow with Dan, plus if it helps this inspirational little man achieve his goal to be in the England team, I would say it's a pretty good investment.
John has riden from Yarmouth to John O Groats, down to Lands End and back to Yarmouth, approx 2000 mile trip lasting 4 days only!
If this is something you would like to assist us with we would be incredibly grateful!
I would like to thank you for your time, if you require any more information we have set up a Facebook page for Dan called 'New wheelchair for Daniel'
Love and peace
