Our friend Glenn the Viking loves to go to raves. Unfortunately, due to accidents suffered and severe damage to his back, he needs an electric wheelchair to get about. His current chair is extremely heavy and takes a long time to take apart and put together in order to fit into standard cars. He can travel by train, but sometimes it would be easier if he could sit in a passenger seat of a car to be taken to raves.

He’s found a travel electric wheelchair that is much lighter in weight and can be folded down easily to be put into the boot of a car. Unfortunately it costs about £2,000 and he is on benefits, so its a big financial commitment. SO, we at Lazer FM decided to hold a charity raffle at the free event that we held at Bar Flava in Stevenage on Sat 1 July. People had a chance to win some signed rave goodies. We had signed vinyl records, signed T shirts from the likes of Bunter, Uncle Dugs, Vibes and others on the rave scene, and mix CDs etc.

I’m sure that you will agree that this is a good cause. Although the raffle is now over, we have been asked to continue the fundraising (and thought that it would be a good idea).

We raised over £250 on the night, but hope to raise £1,000 of the £2,000 he needs, but whatever we can raise will be good.
