I'm running London Marathon this year for Helene who is a beautiful girl who has been battling Buliemia & Anorexia for 18 years. She also has PTSD which has contributed to her illness. Due to the years of damage to her body she suffers from renal failure, which unfortunately is incurable without dialysis and eventually a kidney transplant. Due to the renal failure, Helene unfortunately suffers with low potassium which can cause cardiac arrest. Due to the NHS being under strain Helene is not receiving blood results in enough time to detect life threatening low potassium which could lead to cardiac arrest. To help with Helene's low potassium there is a machine which Helene can use at home which will detect low potassium without having to send bloods to the hospital and receive them days later. The iStat machine give instant results which could potentially save Helene's life. She has been through so much over the last 18 years and is now needing much more help with keeping herself afloat. The NHS is always under strain but with the iStat machine Helene could receive immediate medical help when required after performing the test herself at home. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help towards Helene's treatment. Helene will one day need dialysis and a kidney transplant due to the severity of the renal failure. If we can keep Helene afloat with her potassium it could prevent a cardiac arrest. Any contribution is welcome to help our darling girl recover from this life threatening illness.
