Danny White is like any other football-mad 15-year-old boy.

He and his ball have been inseparable, even before he could walk.

Danny’s journey into squad football began at the tender age of 5 and his autism diagnosis - aged 10 - hasn’t stopped his quest to progress as a sportsman.

Outside of football, his kind nature saw him featured in the regional newspaper, with his campaign to organise a group of neighbourhood volunteers to tackle the overgrown trees and bushes in his area. He followed that up with a 500-mile cycle (during Storm Boris no less!) raising close to £900 for a defibrillator in the community.

Shortly after Danny’s autism diagnosis, he took up the fast-paced small-sided version of football - Futsal - and very quickly developed into an accomplished player, featuring in a tournament at the home of English football development - St George's Park.

Danny completed successful trials at Peterborough United and Norwich City, but his family have begun to struggle with the financial strain of supporting his travel expenses and are fearful this will hamper his progression when we exit lockdown.

Recently Danny received the fantastic news that he has been selected to represent the Three Lions in Barcelona at the most prestigious youth futsal event, playing against top players from international teams including the USA, Brazil and Spain.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the 9 lucky boys selected to represent England and it is scheduled for January 2022.

We need your help to get Danny and mum - his full-time carer - on that plane next year. It will cost around £1,000 for the flights and other costs.

Danny has offered to forfeit his birthday and Christmas presents for life, which is a measure of the size of his heart, but we hope you can contribute to this fund for a special and well-deserving young man.
