As most of you know, Darla was diagnosed with Colorectal cancer in April 2016. In May of that year she underwent surgery to have an ileostomy, and then Chemoradiation began in June. She was just given the ALL CLEAR on 11th May 2017.

It's been a long hard road but she hasn't complained or allowed herself to become bogged down. I am so proud of her. 3 months after her treatment she went back to work as she felt like she had to be bringing an income in again as we were struggling.

I am not usually one to ask for charity, but the 6 months she was off sick meant that we fell behind with a lot of our bills. We are still struggling to get back on track. I was hoping we could save up to travel to Canada next year, where she is from, so that she can visit her family. She hasn't seen her parents in almost 7 years, and they haven't even met their almost 4 year old grandson yet. Her sister visited in July 2013 and that was the last time she saw her too.

I know she feels it's important now more than ever to see them, hug them, laugh with them and just be in their company. It hurts me so much to know she can't just do that - especially when I am so close to my family.

She doesn't know I have done this as she would probably stop me (being proud like she is lol). But it would be a dream come true for her to see her family and friends again!
