Sponsored ride of the South Downs Way

At the beginning of June I will be riding the South Downs Way over two days to raise funds for the bike maintenance group I run at St Nicholas School . The group learn basic but essential bike maintenance skills to help them repair and check their own bikes and also valuable work place skills such as cooperation, the need to follow safety rules, responsibility and how to budget.

We are lucky to get many bikes donated (but are always on the lookout for more) and whilst we have set ourselves up with work stands and basic tools, we do need consumable parts and more specialist tools to be able to continue the group.

Any sponsorship money will be gratefully received and used to fund tools and parts through the year ahead and help develop the project further that we started this year.

Some information about the South Downs Way:

The South Downs Way is a long distance footpath and bridleway running along the South Downs in southern England. It is one of 15 National Trails in England and Wales. The trail runs for 160 km (100 mi) from Winchester in Hampshire to Eastbourne in East Sussex, with about 4,150 m (13,620 ft) of ascent and descent.
