Story
I have recovered from a bout of ill health and wanted to challenge myself to kayak the Caledonian Canal. Being unable to walk has crystallised how vital health and mobility are BUT they are taken for granted. My son Daniel is looking after the "old Man" during this event and has also agreed to kayak with me. Why Kayaking? - simple - you have to use your legs less and it reminds me of the time when walking was an impossibility - similar to many cerebral palsy sufferers.
We are starting this on the 14th June 2018 - this will be Oliver's 4th Birthday, there have been at least 5 times over those years where his Life has hung in the balance. (not a dramatic emphasis, in reality this young man has survived when many would not)
This is in no small part thanks to his mother, and Oliver now exploring what life can bring him (checkout his Facebook site https://www.facebook.com/783784131643485/photos/920977321257498/)
Thanks to anyone who is touched by this and wants to assist in helping understand what can be done to give other Cerebral Palsy sufferers better life chances.

6 years agoI just wanted to thank you all for donating we have exceeded the target on Just giving and have about another £200 in personal donations so the good news is that a reasonable amount has been raised for a good cause AND and old bloke got off his backside and did something challenging and slightly different. Once again thanks to you all for the support it has been outstanding and I guess to finish - Oliver Happy Birthday X

Hi - I am the great Uncle to a young man who is now 3 (4 on 14th June 2018). He has come through many life threatening bouts of illness, thanks to his dedicated Mother. He enjoys life but needs a bit more "kit" to enable both him and his Mum to cope in the years ahead.
