Weʼve raised £215 to Help fund "Baby Basics Oldbury"

    Oldbury, United Kingdom
Funded on Thursday, 21st September 2017

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

"Baby Basics Oldbury" works in the local community to help new mothers who are leaving hospital and have nothing for their child.
They do this by providing a starter pack which consists of a Moses basket for the child to sleep in and the essentials needed such as clothes, nappies, bedding, toys, etc they also include a few things for mom,
They are not funded by any local authorities and rely on donations to carry out their work.
I have been a volunteer with Baby Basics Oldbury since we started just over a year ago and in that time we have sent out over 200 starter packs.
As a pensioner I don't have the money available to support them as I would like but I was given a ride on the titan zip wires in Wales as a present for my 71st birthday so I have decided to use this to raise as much as I can to help with this great project.
Being afraid of heights as I am this will be quite a challenge for me but it's something I have always wanted to do and the fact that it will raise much needed funds will I hope give me the courage to do it.

I would just like to thank everyone that is supporting me in this I must admit that sleep is a little hard in coming tonight as I think about those zip wires tomorrow but it's for such a good cause that I will do it even if I have to get someone to give me a push to get me off the edge. Tomorrow we are sending out our 234 starter pack so when you think about it that's 468 mothers and babies that we have helped but we could not do it without the support of so many wonderful people. I'm also told that we have another 15 referrals waiting.
