Our Story

Six people per day are diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), with most people being given a prognosis of 2-3 years.

Inspired by Alex Gibson who was diagnosed in 2018, CHALLENGING MND was set up with the mission to provide financial support and assistance to those living with MND, to complete any lasting memorable challenges.MND is a debilitating progressive disease which involves degeneration of the motor neurones and wasting of muscles.Throughout the deterioration of the functioning of the body, the mind remains sharp and unaffected, making the importance of memorable occasions invaluable.

How we help

Whilst most Motor Neurone Disease (MND) charities admirably raise money for much needed medical research, Challenging MND sets out to create memorable challenges for people living with MND, giving them; their friends; and families; lifelong memories that can never be taken away. Our aim is to ensure that there are no obstacles, whether it be financial or training equipment, preventing these amazing challenges from happening. THE CHALLENGE

To raise funds for the challenge MND charity I and 17 other intrepid walker/cyclists will over 4 days walk up the UK national 3 peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) and also cycle between them some 550 miles all being well and not getting lost. I am personally doing this to support a a worthwhile cause that will provide memories to MND suffers who may not have the financial means.
